Previous: BRIDGE/GATEWAY | Following: The final management tools |
La central automation o HUB it is, quite simply, a system (software o hardware, as we shall see) through which coordinate and automate all functions all our home automation environment. It is a true e proprio bridge who manages (and implements) ours commands and our automations. Typically an automation central unit performs the functions through the previously described sensors, actuators, devices e BRIDGE/Gateway.
Un HUB well structured provides all the controls relating to our home automation components, their instant status, the historical data collected (eg those related to temperatures). Finally, as the name suggests, it implements the commands and coordinates the automations.
An example of an interface of a HUB (appromelted later):
commands
I "commands", Executed through the"tools of management final"(you see prossimo chapter, step 7), are actions that are requested by the end user to the home automation system that - if corrected and understood - proimplemented. Commands can generally be expressed through gestural interfaces (app) or via voice commands.
Some trivial examples of commands are:
- switching lights on / off / adjustment;
- plant activation and deactivation;
- opening / closing gates;
- thermal regulation;
- environmental parameters required (temperature, relative humidity, etc.).
Automation
For "automation"Means the set of automatic mechanisms, predefined by the user, for which against a event (or "trigger"), Based on one or more determinates condizioni ("condition"), Some kind of triggers reaction ("action"). In the domotic environment the limit of automation it is given by the imagination compared to the components available in our environment.
Let's take examples.
When I leave work I set the heating to 24 degrees Celsius, if the domestic temperature is lower than 20 degrees Celsius.
- trigger: the fact that he left my office
- Condition: temperature below 20 degrees in theappartamento
- Action: set the heating thermostat to 24 degrees Celsius.
Necessary elements to realize automation:
- un sensor of home automation temperature
- a home automation thermostat
- a central automation (HUB) and its interface
- a smartphone with GPS.
All this can scare you, but must not. We'll get there by degrees.
At 21 he runs the lawn for twenty minutes, if it hasn't already rained during the day.
- trigger: take 21 hours
- Condition: that it hasn't rained during the day
- Action: activate the automatic sprinkler (home automation or home automation) for 20 minutes
Necessary elements to realize automation:
- un virtual sensor that, from an external meteorological source, provides pluviometric information (or if and how much it rained during the day in our area)
- un actuator that you activate the sprinkler (or a real home automation sprinkler e proprio)
- a central automation (HUB) and its interface.
When the last one leaves the house, he activates the alarm, closes water and gas, turns off all the lights.
- trigger: exit of a family member from home
- Condition: be the last to leave
- Action: alarm activation, water and gas shut-off, lights off
Necessary elements to realize automation:
- a central automation (HUB) and its interface
- a smartphone with GPS for every member of the family
- an alarm (home automation or made so with ad hoc changes)
- two solenoid valves (for gas and water) connected to the home automation actuators
- home automation actuators for the activation of the lights
These are just some of the easily achievable scenarios with a home automation system because, as explained, the limit is always linked to the imagination and to the elements present in the profirst home automation environment.
